I
do not have a domain name. How do I start?
I already have a domain name with a
hosting company, how can I be hosted by you?
Q. What is reseller web hosting?
A. Reseller hosting works in this way: a web host provides a
reseller hosting account (usually an account with large
storage and bandwidth allowance) to the reseller who then
resells this space and bandwidth to his or her own clients.
The reseller is able to create his or her own hosting plans
and is presented as the hosting company. Most web hosts will
offer reseller hosting accounts and some will even provide
special support for their resellers. Because the capital
outlay and resources is provided by the web host, reseller
web hosting is a simple and cost-effective way to start
providing web hosting services. With its low entry barriers
it has become a popular way to enter the hosting
industry. Q. Are there any hidden costs?
A. No. All costs are stated plainly on our website. We do
not hide fees in fineprint, or in our terms of service
pages. The only costs that are commonly found to occur
beyond your expected flat monthly rates per service, are
those due to increased disk space or bandwidth usage.
Pricing for such is plainly stated on our website.
Q. Can I request additional
IP?
A. $4 per month $10 One-time setup fee.
Q. Do you have an online interface to see my accounts?
A. With WebHostManager Software allows you to create, edit
and remove hosting accounts in real-time, view server
status, upgrade/downgrade accounts, view and limit bandwidth
usage, password modification, full control over your DNS
zones, install/uninstall frontpage extensions and much
more.
Q. Do you host adult
sites?
A. 77hosting.com do not host adult sites, and
our reseller program does not accept adult
websites.
Q. How do I promote my web hosting business?
A. Once you've developed an effective business plan and have
everything in place to actually start operating your hosting
business, you're ready to start marketing your services.
Remember, marketing needs to be an ongoing process if you're
serious about building a successful business.
Start spreading the word about your business by listing your
information in the online hosting directories: the Web Host
Directory, FindMyHosting.com, CompareWebHosts.com, among
others. You can find a comprehensive guide to other web host
directories at HostDirs.com.
Make sure you're listed in the top search engines and
pay-per-click resources, too: Google, AllTheWeb.com, Yahoo!,
MSN Search, Ask Jeeves and Overture, among others.
Don't neglect "real-world" marketing, either. Get
the word out to your local business community by joining the
local Chamber of Commerce, writing guest commentaries about
online business for your local newspaper, advertising in
area publications, and offering to be a guest speaker at the
public library, community college events, Jaycees
gatherings, etc. Word of mouth can often be the most
effective - and cost-effective - form of advertising you can
get.
Q. How do I set my hosting prices and plans?
A. Web hosting is a competitive business, and it’s likely
to seem as if there’s always another provider out there
that charges less for its services than you do. The
challenge in setting prices, keeping competitive and staying
in business isn’t necessarily to always be the cheapest
host around, but to provide the best value to your chosen
customer base.
Deciding what’s of value to your customers first requires,
of course, knowing who your customers are, what they need
most and how much they are willing to pay for those products
and services. You should also make sure your prices are
competitive enough to provide a reasonable return for your
time and efforts, after your costs. It’s also a good idea
to research the market and ask questions of other hosts and
resellers to learn as much as possible about what does and
doesn’t work.
Finally, keep in mind that good service – treating your
customers well at all times – can often be one of the most
valuable things your business can offer, and can help you
stand out from a crowded field of competitors.
Q. How much do you charge me if I exceed the bandwidth
limit?
A. $2 per 1GB per month
Q. How much do you charge me if I exceed the disk
space?
A. $2 per 100MB per month
Q. Is there a discount if I pre-pay for a number of months
in advance?
A. We do offer a discount to resellers for advance payments
on their account. You pay for 11 months and get 1 month
free. Email support@77hosting.com
for details.
Q. What is included in my reseller website package?
A. Host UNLIMITED Domains under one large account with full
features.
Q. What products & services can I resell?
A. You can setup your own hosting packages and set any price
you wish.
Q. Will my clients find out about 77HOSTING.COM?
A. 77HOSTING.COM attempts to hide all mention and
tracing of 77HOSTING.COM for its resellers. We offer private
nameservers, anonymous web browser control panels, manuals,
server names, at no additional charge. The routing
traceroute to 77HOSTING.COM and the ARIN IP registration
whois info, are both currently being changed over to be
totally anonymous
Q: If I purchase just 1 unit
and then require additional units, how do I order these and
how soon will my account be upgraded?
A: To order additional units you purchase these the same way
as you purchased your reseller account. You can also choose
how many additional units to purchase. Once you've purchased
an additional unit we guarantee that your account will be
upgraded within 24 hours, however the usual time is between
4 to 8 hours.
Q: I'm already a reseller with another company but your
prices are much lower. How easy is it to move my customers
over to your systems?
A: It is very easy to move your customer over to us. After
you have purchased your reseller account, you can set up all
your customers via our control panel. Then, you can either
upload your customers files yourself or request that they do
it. Once this is done, you simply change the nameservers to
the ones we provide you with and between 24/72 hours later
they are fully moved over. You can then cancel your account
with your other reseller provider.
Q: Is there a limit on how many units I can purchase ?
A: There is no limit at all.
Q: What happens if my customers go over the allocated disk
space / bandwidth?
A: Via our control panel you can see exactly how much disk
space and bandwidth your customers are using in real time.
If it looks likely that you need more to cope this is the
time to purchase an additional unit(s). The system will also
email you and your customer when they hit 80% usage of their
disk space or bandwidth.
Q: Is it really true that there is no minimum contract?
A: Yes it is. You can cancel at any time penalty free. If
you have customers at such a time we will also buy them from
you with our buy back option.
Q: I am worried that you may increase your prices and I will not make a profit because of such a change, is this likely?
A: Price increases may occur from time to time but will be very small to simply reflect inflation increases. We will contact you in such unlikely circumstances well before any increase takes place.
Q: What does the "buy back option" mean?
A: Our "buy back option" means that we purchase customers from resellers that no longer wish to be a reseller. The price we pay per customer depends on: how long they have been a customer, the monthly fees they are paying and the amount of resources they use. If you are a reseller and would like to get a quote for selling your customers to us, please contact
us
Q: What is a blind nameserver?
A: A typical nameserver would show your customers that you are a reseller, for example, if we provided nameservers such as
ns1.DNSLIST.NET, chances are the customer would visit us which could result in a lost customer. To avoid this we provide blind nameservers that point to a website that contains nothing but "this website is used for our customers". Then, if a customer does visit the site they will find no trace of
us.
